She made her debut in Hong Kong in 1989 with the song "Still Old Sentences". In 1992, she became known to audiences for her performance of the song "Women Who Hurt Easy". She has won top honors at numerous Mandopop music awards and holds the Guinness World Record for the highest cumulative album sales by a Hong Kong Cantopop female singer.
